Sugar produced from sugar beet
Every year processing of sugar beets is done between late September and mid-January which represents a biologically conditioned system of harvesting and processing (called “Sugar Beet Campaign”).
These are the most important stages in sugar production:
- Beet processing
- Removal of soil, sugar juice extraction, removal of plant material
- Juice purification / concentration
- Elimination of substances that do not belong to sugar, water removal
- Crystallization and storage of sugar
- Production of pure sugar, storage in large silos under ideal conditions
